NSW
The Real Cost of Healthy Food
The third phase of Go for 2&5 in NSW aims to dispel the myth that eating healthy is expensive and time consuming.
This has been done by comparing the cost per kilo of ten common snack foods to fruit and vegie alternatives – which in most cases cost less than one third the price!

Download the Real Cost of Healthy Food report card and find out just how much you spend on your 2&5.

The Real Cost of Healthy Food report card was developed by NSW Health in partnership with the Dietitians Association of Australia.

Evaluation
Go for 2&5 campaign evaluation in NSW indicates awareness of the campaign is high and it has led to positive shifts in knowledge and behaviour.

Fruit'n'Veg Week 2009
Fruit ‘n’ Veg Week is a week when NSW primary and central schools can promote and celebrate fruit and vegetables. Materials and activities are available for the classroom, canteen and whole-of-school. For more information, visit  the Healthy Kids website.

Crunch&Sip
Crunch&Sip is a set break in primary schools for students to ‘refuel’ on fruit and salad vegetables and ‘rehydrate’ with water, assisting physical and mental performance and concentration. Registered schools receive a Resource Pack, which incorporates healthy eating into the classroom and reinforces the principles of Crunch&Sip. For more information visit the Healthy Kids website.
